22nd Fujitsu Cup, third round

The main attraction of the third round, was the game between Lee Sedol and Chang Hao (SGF file) (in the image they analyse the game with Rui Naiwei). Unfortunatelly for Lee's fans, he didn't play at his best.

That happened either because Lee wants to finish all his tournaments before taking a break from the Go scene (see previous blogs) or because all the things that happened affected his play.

In the other games, Park Yeonghun (black) won by 4.5 points (SGF file) against Kono Rin, Kang Dongyun taking white won by resign against Piao Wenyao (SGF file), while Lee Changho as white, won by 4.5 points against Yamashita Keigo after a very interesting game (SGF file).

The semifinals, Park - Kang and Lee - Chang will be played in Tokyo on the 4th of July and the final two days later. It will be interesting to see the japanese Go fans interest in a three koreans versus one chinese semifinals.
